Gasoline Settlement Basis Options

To more accurately reflect the acquisition cost of gasoline with the cost of Foreign and Remote transactions, Participants may designate which OPIS average to use in the Purchase Price Formula for Foreign and Remote Transactions at their sites.  The current options available:

• Branded Average – Participants may select the Branded Average if the site is registered as a Branded site.  Branded averages are used regardless of the number of suppliers represented in the average.

• Unbranded Average - Participants may select the Unbranded Average if the site is unbranded. CFN will use the Unbranded Average if the rack has three or more unbranded suppliers represented in the average. If there are two or less unbranded suppliers, CFN will continue to use the Rack Average.

• Rack Average (branded and unbranded postings combined) – Participants may select the Rack average for both unbranded and branded sites.

• Annually, Participants have the option to choose between OPIS Unbranded Average or Rack Average for settlement basis.  Changes are effective April 1st and the following information must be submitted by March 15th

• Branded sites may be registered anytime, however, only changed once a year.

Settlement basis for new sites will be established at the time the site is approved by the Selection Committee pursuant to request on the Site Registration Proposal Form.  CFN will default to Rack Average if not otherwise stipulated by Participant.
