Account Management is where you can add, remove, and edit Commercial Fueling Network's cards. Modify Accounts contact information and Credit Account level gallon limits. You can access the Account Management screens from the ‘Account Management’ link on the Main Menu, or from the Accounts link on the menu at the top of each screen.

The \"brains\" of the computer. Although central processing unit technically refers to a single part inside the computer, the acronym CPU is casually used to refer to the box containing the Central Processing Unit, motherboard, disk drives, and power supply.
A file containing card information that is centralized on the CFN Host computer. Because the CFN Host authorized each transaction, the card information is always current and accessible. The centralized card file allows Emergency Card Updates that are effective across the network immediately.

CFN-provided, pre-numbered forms used to record transactions when equipment or a card malfunctions. A Hand Tag is a manually generated receipt, like a credit card receipt, written by the site operator and signed by the driver.
Hardware is the physical part of the computer that you can touch. It includes printers, cables, Modems, monitors, disk drives and cabinets.

A worldwide interconnection of computers and networks that permit the exchange of messages and files between users around the world.
The system responsible for maintaining an environment whereas participants can view transactions and download transactions in real time. Also responsible for maintaining participant specific information, general CFN news, company profile and directions to CFN sites.
Occurs when the site controller is unable to connect to the CFN host. The card is generally authorized for a small amount (about 100 gallons) and the transaction is sent to CFN once the connection is reestablished.
A transaction by the participant's customer at the participant's site. The transaction is not sent to the CFN Host.

The equipment that translates data between computers and telephone line transmittable data. Modems transfer information and communicate between computers.
The document all participants sign before becoming a participant on the CFN network. This agreement is a contract between a participant and CFN. General business rules and regulations are provided in the agreement.

A site that is accessible only by a participant's selected customers and not other participants' customers. The difference between a Ghost Site and a Private Site is that, Ghost Sites must dial out to the CFN Host, while Private Sites may dial out. Note: CFN software does not support any transaction done at a Private Site without Host communication, including card and account maintenance.
The 2-digit CFN code that identifies both fuel or non-fuel specific type of product or class of product.
Fueling Terminal where a site’s product/fuel comes from and is used for OPIS pricing.
A transaction by your customer at another participant's site. This same transaction would be considered \"foreign\" to that other participant.
The process of replacing deleted or corrupted data using data backed up on diskettes or tapes.

A card created for operation at a CFN site. \"Single\" refers to the type of card operation at the site. In this case, a single card is used at the site to request fuel. The other type of card operation at the site is a Two Card system. Under a Two Card system; two cards (a Driver Card and a Vehicle Card) are used at the site to request authorization for fuel. A cardlock facility operated by any participant in the network.
The ability for the CFN host to notify participants when certain selected sites have not communicated for a specified time, configured using CFNNET.com. This allows the Participant to be made aware quickly when a site failure has occurred.
A device that controls the CFN site by collecting transaction, controlling the pumps, and checking the validity of cards via communication with the CFN Host. Primarily used at unattended cardlock sites.
The summary report that CFN furnishes each Participant on the number of transactions, local authorizations, invalid and failed cards, on CFNNET.com.
Updated once a week, accessible from the Sites Menu. This report shows participant transaction activity at each of your sites, the percent of local authorizations at the sites, and any errors that occurred at these sites during the week.

A number assigned to a call by the Participant Support Center. Ticket numbers are issued from HEAT to reference calls to the Participant Support Center
The area on the Magnetic Stripe of the CFN card where the card number and other proprietary data is kept.
